OV YAC aims to represent youth in town government, and last year we helped survey teens about what they wanted at our Naranja Park and the Pima County library’s newly renovated Teen Zone. We also attended a Design Charrette for our town’s new Recreation center to lobby for improvements important to the youth of Oro Valley. In addition, several YAC members actively participated in the town’s Your Voice Our Future committees that created a 10 year plan for our town with an emphasis on greater community and social events. Last winter, we also had the honor of walking in Oro Valley’s Holiday Parade. Furthermore, YAC members frequently visit senior care facilities such as Catalina Springs and Fairwinds -Desert Point Retirement Center, where we participate in the residents’ art projects and holiday events.
